Healthcare professionals often face challenges when adjusting antibiotic dosages according to a patient's renal function. This is a critical aspect of medical practice as proper dosing can significantly reduce adverse drug effects.

It is essential to accurately calculate the patient's Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) and refer to current, reliable dosage adjustment guidelines. Traditional methods for achieving this can sometimes be cumbersome and time-consuming.

In response to this need, SmartMedic has developed the Renal Dose application. This tool enables healthcare providers to easily determine renal function using calculators such as CKD-EPI, Cockcroft-Gault, or MDRD. Furthermore, it provides access to medications with already adjusted dosages based on creatinine clearance, enhancing both efficiency and safety in prescribing practices.

The application covers dosage corrections for a variety of medication classes, including antibiotics, antifungals, antivirals, and antiepileptic drugs. Notably, it is unique in offering pre-calculated dosages derived from creatinine clearance values.
